Georg Fischer Signet is Voted Manufacturer of the Year!

Georg Fischer Signet is grateful to be this year’s recipient of the Georg Fischer Piping Systems Manufacturer of the Year award, a distinction we have targeted since its inception in 2003. This award not only recognizes the hard work and amazing efforts of our 85 member team, but it also embodies the very values that are intrinsic within the Georg Fischer organization.

As is the prevailing philosophy in the Piping Systems Group, we at Georg Fischer Signet always put the customer first. Most recently, over the past year, we have developed tools to help our customers further understand the inherent value of our measurement sensors and instruments. From our new flow and analytical measurement training system to our “Voice of the Customer (VOC)” database, we are constantly working to improve the level of communications.

Putting the customer first means delivering what they want when they want it. We must act fast. And when it comes to speed of delivery, Georg Fischer Signet outperforms the industry and continuously strives to do even better. Last year brought numerous opportunities to test our resources and with objective feedback, we are proud to say that we passed with flying colors. As part of our ongoing commitment to Process Improvement, a Six Sigma project was undertaken to improve our already impressive shipping/delivery process.

In 2004, we experienced unprecedented growth in sales over the previous year. Seeing the need to quickly adapt, we implemented a 2nd labor shift with a target of doubling capacity and output. The implementation was accompanied by a redesign of the production floor in order to accommodate the new requirements.

Last but not least, communication is the golden key to satisfying customers, starting the moment a customer submits their order to the point of receipt. We are committed to upholding the strict standards set forth by our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and we continuously strive for Process Improvement opportunities because this brins greater efficiency, customer-focused employees and a hunger to be the best possible supplier in the business.
