Surface Finishing

Process Description

Many surface finishing processes are carried out through wet chemistry methods and involve rigorous controls for maximum efficiency. These processes consist of a series of sequential chemical processing tanks (baths) separated by water rinse stages. Some baths may operate at elevated temperatures to help with required chemical reactions while others may be agitated to improve contact with the bath chemistry.

Chemical baths are periodically replenished to replace lost solution or to return the concentration of constituents in the bath to within acceptable limits. Some are equipped with filters to remove particulate matter and are periodically replaced based on criteria, such as analytical sampling. Water from rinse baths is typically cleaned and recycled to minimize wastewater discharge.

Georg Fischer Signet products can be used for many parts of the plant whether it's chemical mixing stations, deionization systems water for rinsing and dilution of chemicals, or a large number of surface finishing processes that demand high quality products.
