Bi-directional Flow with the New Magmeters

The new Signet 2551 Insertion Magmeter is capable of detecting flow traveling in both directions.  In truth, this capability is inherent in the Faraday principle, which is the technology underlying all magnetic flow meters.  The forward flow direction is indicated by the directional arrow molded into the side of the 2551 sensor.

Flow Rate Display:
    •  Forward flow is displayed without a sign "123.45 GPM "
    •  Reverse flow is indicated by a minus sign: "-123.45 GPM "

Totalizer Display:
    •  The totalizer will count during forward flow conditions only.
    •  During reverse flow the totalizer will not increment.

Relay Outputs:
    •  May be set to detect reverse flow: "Low Setpoint at -25 GPM ."

4-20 mA output
    •   May be scaled to span any flow range
    •   Example: "4 to 20 mA = -100 GPM to +100 GPM "

Frequency output, Frequency ÷ 10 output:
    •  Reverse flow is processed same as forward flow.

Digital (S3L) output:
    •   This digital output represents bi-directional flow, however, the 8900 Multi-Parameter will only process flow in         forward flow direction.
