Sleeved Rotors

  • The rotors in Georg Fischer Signet paddlewheel flow sensors are lubricated by the fluid.
  • Occasionally the installation conditions or the fluid itself defeats this design feature, causing the rotor to wear unevenly at the bearing points, resulting in inaccurate and erratic signal output. The system may be completely disabled if the rotor becomes stuck or is lost.
  • Sleeved rotors eliminate wear by distributing the bearing surface across the length of a Fluoroloy-G sleeve (a PTFE compound).
  • Consider one of these special application rotors the next time you find a rotor with uneven wear around the pin holes, or if the metal pin is being eroded by abrasive fluid content.
  • Signet also recommends a sleeved rotor to protect fragile ceramic rotor pins from breakage.
  • When a sleeved rotor is not suitable, consider the Signet 2551 Magmeter as a solution to abrasive fluid applications.
