El Monte, Calif., – April 8, 2008 – GF Piping Systems’ advertisement featuring the Signet 2552 Metal Magmeter, the company’s new electromagnetic insertion flow sensor, has been named as one of the top 10 winners in Chemical Processing Magazine’s 2007 AdEffect™ Report, a yearly study conducted to evaluate advertising effectiveness. Winners in the top ten category were presented with a congratulatory plaque from Chemical Processing.
The AdEffect study is based on a survey evaluation of advertisements that appear in a particular issue and uses a sampling of readers who participate via an online questionnaire. Conducted by Signet Research, Inc. (Cliffside Park, New Jersey), the study reported that the GF Piping Systems’ 2552 Metal Magmeter advertisement scored 71% in “net effectiveness,” which included a combination of ratings based on rankings from poor to excellent on how well the ad “provided awareness, caused action, built preference, kept customers, and sold.” The report also detailed the survey respondents’ profile and editorial readership. Advertisements included in the survey ranged from one page/four-color to ¼-page/ two-color.
The report also included actual open-ended comments from those surveyed that described what message they felt was being conveyed. Among comments for the GF Piping Systems ad, respondents said that the ad communicated an “intriguing design for a magmeter…would consider for clear fluids,” “the advertisement showed what the product can do – simple clean and straight to the point,” and “signified the simplicity of the meter.”
“Because of the somewhat subjective nature of advertisements and the difficulty in accurately statistically gauging an advertisement’s success, this type of report provides valuable input,” said Marina Valentine, Marketing Communications Manager for GF Piping Systems’ Georg Fischer Signet LLC facility in El Monte. “We appreciate the third party research that can provide an unbiased report, and the simple, yet thorough approach for evaluating our ad.”
